I was browsing through Youtube today when I saw something that made me very happy. The United Stated Congress has decided on making itself more open to the public by setting up a Youtube page. I think that this is a brilliant idea because seeing how the internet has become a very important form of communication for todays's youth, using a popular site such as Youtube to get in touch with the citizens of the US is going to prove to be very effective.
With a very well detailed front page, and a well defined difference between videos by the House of Representatives and videos by the Senate, and detailed guidelines on how to access your states Representatives and Senators, this Youtube page has come as a godsend to me, and surely, other Political Junkies who were having difficulties accessing the actions of Congress.
With introductions by Nancy Pelosi (Speaker of the House), Harry Reid (US Senate Leader for the 110th Congress), and others, the welcome video serves as a pleasant reminder of how the US Government is always a progressive force.
